BMW Sauber

BMW Sauber is a formula one-car manufacturer. It is based in places of the world like Hinwil, Switzerland and Munich, Germany. BMW Sauber was formed around the end of the year with the acquisition of the existing Sauber Formula One Company by a German car manufacturer BMW.

BMW Sauber Munich was established in the year 1970. Peter Sauber also participated in various sports car racing during the whole of the decade of the seventies and the beginning of 1980’s. Sauber was in a partnership deal till the year 2004. The German car manufacturer BMW was an engine supplier to Nelson Piquet from the years 1982-1987 and from the years 2000-2005. It was Nicholas Piquet who won the 1983 drivers world championship in a Braham BMW.



Prior to Peter Sauber’s entry in the BMW, Williams were the supplier of engine. BMW decided to stop purchasing from Williams and brought Sauber in the year 2005. Since then onwards Sauber remained with BMW and ultimately became the advisor of BMW.
