The tea business got expanded quickly with the opening of new shops in Bradford, Liverpool and Leeds. In the year 1872, he moved the headquarters of his company to London. After some years of struggling, his business again began to thrive in 1880, when Brooke began supplying his tea to grocery shops. The success of his business made him to expand his company all over the world and also to invest in his own tea plantations.
After the retirement of Brooke, Gerald, his son, took the charge. The innovative advertisement technique like tea cards guaranteed more success but due to increase of competition with other drinks, this company had to associate with Liebig Company, which was based in Oxo.
To publicize new company as Brooke Bond Oxo, this company became the sponsor of motor racing and joined Rob Walker in the year 1970 and it became the first big non trade sponsor of Formula One. The first deal was for 3 years, and walker hired Graham Hill to drive in the competition. After the end of first season, Hill decided to join with Brabham and Walker decided to join with John Surtees. Brooke Bond Oxo became the sponsor of Surtees formula one team and the drivers were Tim Schenken and Mike Hailwood. Schenken was replaced by Carlos Pace, a Brazilian, in the following years.
Brooke Bond Oxo withdrew itself from Formula 1 at the end of the year 1973. till date, Brooke Bond Oxo is a successful name in Formula One motor car racing championships.
