Canadian Formula One Grand Prix is one of the famous Formula one Races of world. It is been held in Canada since 1967. The first Canadian Formula One Grand Prix was held at Mosport Park in Bowmanville, which is in Ontario. Till 1971, this race alternated between Circuit Mont-Tremblant and Mosport. After that due to safety concerns, Canadian Formula One Grand Prix was moved to Mosport permanently in the year 1978. the current location of Canadian Formula One Grand Prix is Ile Notre-Dame in Montreal. Canadian Formula One Grand Prix was the most widely watched Formula One Grand Prix, all over the world. It also ranked third in the most watched sporting event in the world.

The repeated winners of Canadian Formula One Grand Prix are Jacky Ickx, Michael Schumacher, Jackie Stewart, Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna and Alan Jones.



The first winner of Canadian Formula One Grand Prix in Montreal was Gilles Villeneuve who was from Quebec. After his death, the race track has been named as Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. He was the only Canadian winner at this circuit.

In 1987, Canadian Formula One Grand Prix did not occur due to a dispute of sponsorship between two local breweries, Molson and Labatt. The track was modified in this break and then the start line moved to the current position.

Due to tobacco legislation, the Canadian Formula One Grand Prix was removed initially from 2004 Formula Race schedule. It was also because of new venues along with the limit of a maximum of 17 races on schedule. The Canadian officials could raise enough money to keep this race, and FIA allowed the expansion of this race to a schedule of 18 race.
