Monaco Formula One Grand Prix

Monaco Formula One Grand Prix is one of the well known Formula One Races. The venue for Monaco Formula One Grand Prix is at Circuit de Monaco. It is held over here every year. Since 1929, when it started, it has become one of the most prestigious and important automobile races of the world, along with 24 Hours of Le Mans and Indianapolis 500. It is considered as 'The Jewel of the Formula One Crown', due to the spectacle, glamor and history of Monaco Formula One Grand Prix.

The race is held at a narrow course in the streets of Monaco, which is marked by changes of elevation and tight corners, which make it as one of the most demanding tracks of Formula One. It is a dangerous place for car race though there are relatively low average speeds, in this track.


The first race Monaco Formula One Grand Prix was organized in the year 1929 by Anthony Noghes. It was named as Automobile Club de Monaco, which made its entry into motor sport by holding Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo from the year 1911. to attain the national status fully, Noghes proposed the creation of Automobile Grand Prix in the Monte Carlo streets. According to Chiron, a top level driver in European Grand Prix, the topography was well suited for setting of a racing track.



The first Grand Prix Automobile de Monaco was an event where participation was only by invitation but all the invitees did not join. The leading of that time, Alfa Romeo and Masarati did not take part in the competition but Bugatti represented.

The Circuit de Monaco is in the streets of La Condamine and Monte Carlo, where the famous harbor is located. The race circuit has tight corners, many changes in elevation along with a narrow course, which altogether makes it the most demanding track in Formula One race.
