Formula, the very name indicates that a participating team must pertain to a set of formulas. Part of the rules and regulations of formula one racing is Points System of Formula One.
The championship of the driver and the constructor is dependent on the Points System of Formula One. These points are awarded according to the place that the driver finishes the race at each Grand Prix event. But finishing the race is not mandatory according to the rules of the race. Points are alloted to the team even if the driver fails to finish the race. According to the Points System of Formula One adopted by the formula one governing body at least 90% of the distance covered by the winner has to be covered by the retiring team; to qualify for points.
